Stream Advisory Rescinded for Little Cow Creek to Cow Creek located South of Lyons, Kansas
Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has rescinded a stream advisory for Little Cow Creek to Cow Creek, south of Lyons, Kansas that was issued on Jan. 29, 2025.
The stream advisory was a result of operation problems at the city of Lyons wastewater plant.
The city of Lyons has repaired the problem, and water sampling indicates that tested bacteria and contaminant levels are within the normal range. KDHE has deemed the stream safe for secondary (wading) contact and livestock use.
